How I got into coaching...

I have always been interested in psychology, well-being, and personal growth.  As a sensitive soul, I had a difficult childhood and had to do a lot of work to bring myself from feeling not enough to knowing who I am, having an authentic voice, and feeling valuable and empowered.

What first drew me to Martha Beck was the extraordinary wisdom and humor in her books and columns. Having this wisdom available to me was a great help through significant transition periods in my marriage and career, and her sage guidance compelled me to take her intensive Life Coach training program to learn how to guide others going through their own difficult transitions.

What I have come to learn is that simply knowing what to expect and what to do while you’re in an uncomfortable period of great change can help you navigate it with the least amount suffering and move you closer to “your best life.”  The thought work, tools, and information I share with my clients have helped me immensely! With this knowledge, I have gone from feeling stuck, unhappy and in survival mode to feeling more peace and happiness in a life that is more aligned with my true self.

What’s more, I know that listening to your body—which can tell you when something isn’t right in your life before you do—is often crucial in knowing what might need to change. Creating mindfulness around one’s body and its symptoms has helped me in times of transition and loss, and I have integrated that mindfulness into my coaching practice.

Having these resources can reassure you that whatever comes your way, you will have the innate ability to overcome and grow from your challenges. I became a coach because I would like to pass this wisdom on to you.

My values...

I align my coaching with the values of authenticity, honesty, integrity, wisdom and kindness. We’ll work together to discover the right approaches for the unique individual you are. As we do so, my mission is to be of service to you and what you truly want out of life, not what culture and your family and friends might expect from you. Every day does not have to be a struggle, and I want to help you have more fun, fulfillment, and happiness in your one precious life.

A few more things...

I combine my love of coaching clients on personal issues with over 25 years of experience as an employment lawyer, helping organizations solve difficult and complex workplace issues including discrimination and harassment.

Some of my most rewarding work has involved helping women balance various challenges that they face. To this end, I created and ran a support group for working moms for over 10 years, encouraging them to bring their whole selves to get-togethers for connection, resources, and community.

Additionally, I have provided training on life transitions for The Women's Center in Vienna, Virginia.
